Because of the corona pandemic the bbw university of applied sciences had to switch to online lectures in this semester. The university of applied sciences already has lots of experience with distance learning. We talked to Johannes Kirch, professor for personnel management and corporate governance about teaching during corona and the use of a TOPSIM – business simulation for master students.
In a simulation-based seminar participants are confronted with a variety with new experiences. By running through several simulation periods, making strategic management decisions and competing with other teams they expand their knowledge and improve skills such as teamwork and communication within the group. To ensure that the participants can process the experiences, thorough reflection phases after group tasks are particularly important. We have prepared 6 questions for you to ask your participants during the debriefing.
During summer semester 2020 bachelor students at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences had the chance to test the new strategy business simulation TOPSIM – Scale Up in the beta-phase. We talked to Thomas Temme who played the simulation with a group of international students.
In March 2020, the International Business Week took place at the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences. Since 2010, Prof. Dr. Christian Armbruster gives students the opportunity to learn in a gamified way and make international contacts. Our TOPSIM – Business Simulations support this project.
At the EBZ in Bochum, which offers a wide range of training opportunities for the housing and real estate industry, students had the opportunity to complete a simulation-based module with TOPSIM – Startup. Ines Leistenschneider, teacher of business administration, explained to us to how the simulation supported the course.
